Our chocolate products are imported only from Europe and primarily form Belgium, France and Italy resulting in a good cross section of quality chocolates. This makes Chocadore one of the only chocolate shops in South Africa that stocks numerous exclusive brands. The chocolate sourced is only of the best quality and comply with our stringent criteria:
  • Made with only the best and freshest ingredients
  • Not sold in major retail stores in South Africa (exclusive to our stores)
  • Quality, classy packaging
  • Something unique or well known about the brand
    i.e they specialise in or are famous for truffles or special occasion chocolates
Our chocolate products include individual pralines (filled chocolates) that are purchased in bulk and sold individually according to cusomer preferences and tastes. This currently includes a variety of 70 pralines that are hand made and expertly decorated. We have also incorporated a number of pre-packed gift-boxes that are beautifully packaged for your convenience and a range of chocolate bars and slabs.

We intend to constantly source exclusive products that can be sold in our shop and distributed to other resellers. All our products are unique to Chocadore and of superior quality and are not sold in mass-market stores or outlets.

The shop has also introduced gift hampers, which combine chocolates with other indulgent items like wine, champagne and cigars.

AMEDEI - ITALY

Together, Alessio and Cecilia experimented with new ideas, to give life to an exclusive chocolate, and launched it worldwide. They broke the homology of tastes, and became the artificers of true and proper Renaissance taste. Since 1990, Alessio and Cecilia have devoted and committed themselves to the search of perfect harmonious tastes, becoming reality in the form of a linear balanced bar or a napolitain shape, and a soft roundness of a praline. The entire production process is followed by dedication and artisan skills such as the selection of the seeds of cocoa, personally done by Alessio in the countries of origin to the manufacturing of the chocolate conducted in the laboratory of Pontedera, under the attentive supervision of Cecilia, Amedei's maitre chocolatier. Aromas and colours of far away countries envelope you in a sensation which arouses your desires with its purity.

Each tasting is a different emotion. Cecilia, who experiments with various flavours, and Alessio, who looks for the cocoa in order to carry out unique recipes every day through a different journey which begins in Pontedera and goes through Venezuela, Madagascar, Ecuador, and ends at the frontier of the taste, experience the same emotion.

Amedei has won a Gold award under the "Bean to Bar" category for Amedei Toscano 70% in 2007 and for Amedei Chuao and Porcelana 2007 - awarded by Academy of Chocolate in London.

DOLFIN – BELGIUM

At Dolfin, our master chocolate makers cultivate the intense and aromatic taste of real Belgian chocolate.  Powerful, full-flavoured and sometimes extreme in the case of the dark chocolates, soft and tender in the case of the milk chocolates.

Keen on travelling, our master chocolate makers are interested in the flavours of the world, those who, when unrefined, can still be found naturally authentic and pure.  Fruits, spices, herbs and flowers are mingled with precious chocolate in sometimes surprising but always harmonious combinations.  Innovation lies at the heart of the spirit of Dolfin; that is why some of our recipes are genuine novelties for gourmands. Our master chocolate makers dare to create the most unexpected combinations, to invent the subtlest harmonies, searching as a team for the finest ingredients, which they then select from the best that Nature has to offer. Dolfin also offers a wide range of chocolate, from 32% cocoa in milk chocolates to 88% in the bitterest.

Containing less sugar, less fat and more cocoa than traditional recipes, our chocolates truly concentrate the nutritional and therapeutic qualities of chocolate.  Simple and authentic, they will keep naturally for a long time (one year without any preserving agent).

KIMS CHOCOLATES – BELGIUM

Kim's Chocolates was founded in 1987 by Fons Maex and named after his only daughter, Kim Maex. Fons was frustrated by the lack of quality in Belgian chocolate factories and decided he would do much better. Fons worked with two top chocolatiers whose ancestors were famous chocolatiers and brought with them recipes dating back as far as 1913.

A superb range of 80 different hand made pralines imported from Belgium. Unlike most other chocolates these elegant pieces are made from 100% cocoa butter, with fresh ingredients and no preservatives. A wide selection of beautifully crafted chocolates filled with many exotic and decadent flavours to satisfy everyone's tastes. To this popular range Kim's has added chocolate slabs and filled bars.

Kim's also manufactures a private label - Cachet - that has an impressive sugar free range including pralines, slabs and biscuits, all suitable for diabetics.

Although one of the younger chocolate manufacturers, Kim's is active worldwide and supplies products to various prestigious customers.

CHARLEMANGE - BELGIUM

Around the year 715, in a green valley where a river flowed, there was a mill whose owner was the Count of Laon. His daughter Bertrade fell in love with the palace's Master, Pepin the Short, son of Charles Martel. They had a son, Karl, whom history remembers as Karolus Magnus, Charles the Great - Charlemagne. The mill was destroyed around the year 1000, and Charlemagne's farm was built and expanded time and again and took its current form around the 17th century.

An artist decided to establish a chocolate factory there - producing the highest quality products. Her perfect knowledge of the world of gastronomy was helped by her good taste and imagination, and she's never stopped innovating since 1985. Charlemagne invented the "Taste in the Mass" process system, that enabled producing a very fine product with a long-lasting taste. Chocolates are made only from natural ingredients, without any G.M.O. or oil addition. Charlemagne chocolates are low in sugar content (and include a sugar-free and organic range), and thanks to their high content of minerals, vitamins and theobromin, they are highly recommended in cases of light diets and various other health conditions.
